Feast of St. Donato

St Luke’s Parish joyfully invites the entire community to gather in faith for the Feast of St Donato, a day of deep devotion and gratitude as we honour this holy bishop and martyr whose witness continues to inspire Christians throughout the world.

St Donato, Bishop of Arezzo in the 4th century, is remembered for his unwavering courage, profound charity, and steadfast commitment to the Gospel during a time of great persecution. Renowned for his miracles and his pastoral care for the poor, he defended the Church with heroic faith. Tradition tells of his miraculous healing of a young child and the restoration of a sacred chalice shattered by persecutors—signs of God’s power working through him to strengthen the faithful. Ultimately, St Donato gave his life for Christ, sealing his ministry with the crown of martyrdom.
